Do you know what’s one of the best predictors of how well a child will learn to read?

Its Rhyme. Rhyme is important because it teaches children how language works.  It helps them notice and hear the sounds within words. And it is fun!  Like many things Rhyme has a hierarchy that children work through as they develop their knowledge of rhyme. This resource provides activities for each stage.

We have included suggestions for Rhyming books and activities for:  Rhyme or Not. Rhyme Odd one out. Rhyme Matching. Rhyme production. In addition, a set of rhyming card families is included for extension activities. The resource is in black and white and color.
